iBT™ TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language- Internet Based)

ETSThe Next Generation TOEFL test, (iBT) launched September 2005, helps institutions of higher learning make decisions about the readiness of international learners to effectively communicate in an English-speaking academic environment. An integrated approach test is used as a measure of students' readiness to succeed. Thus, they need to not only understand English, but also to communicate effectively. Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking are key skill areas tested using an integrated approach. Our courses are designed to increase your successful outcome on the New TOEFL. We strive to ensure that you, our students, have academic readiness!

AEI is a certified ETS TOEFL-iBT test site. To register for a TOEFL exam at our school, please go to www.ets.org/toefl/. Follow the steps for online registration of the iBT. The Atlanta English Institute’s available test dates will appear in the list of Atlanta test centers.

Student Life Activities

The student experience at AEI will be full of educational and fun activities. Every 8-week session, our IEP students are offered a special activity that combines fun, adventure, friendship and another opportunity to use their newfound English language skills.

http://www.atlei.com/

These include field trips, picnics, theatre, outdoor activities, sporting events, museums, etc. AEI also holds graduation events and international potlucks, where AEI students and staff share their favorite ethnic or American foods.

One of our featured activities is the Student Showcase. This event is a judged competition where students deliver oral presentations on various topics to fellow students, instructors and judges.

Student activities or campus activities is a broad term describing most student-focused extracurricular clubs and programs at a college or university. Student activities are generally designed to allow students to get more involved and offer them opportunities in leadership, social responsibility, citizenship, volunteerism, and student employment.

These activities are typically overseen by a Director of Student Activities, Student Affairs, or Student Engagement who often holds a master's degree in student development or a comparable field. Program directors often provide guidance for clubs, set standards for student run organizations, and can also help network with other institutions through organizations like the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) or the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA).
